Real Madrid centre-back Dean Huijsen suffered a muscle injury while training with the Spanish national team, as confirmed by the ‘Merengues’. The Spanish defender could be available for ‘El Clasico’ as he is expected to be out for around two weeks.
Bad news for Spaniards and Real Madrid fans. Dean Huijsen injured his left soleus muscle while training with the Spanish national team and will therefore leave the Spanish training camp and miss the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria.
“Following tests carried out on our player, Dean Huijsen, today and assessed by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg. Further updates will follow,” reads the statement.
According to reports, it is estimated that the Spanish centre-back will be out of action for around two weeks, meaning he will miss the visit to Getafe in La Liga on 19th October and the Champions League home match against Juventus on 22nd October.
However, Huijsen could be available for La Liga’s ‘El Clasico’ on Sunday 26th October, although depending on his recovery, he could be used by Xabi Alonso in the starting line-up or as a substitute.
