Juventus’ 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday came at a cost as the Italian side found themselves unexpectedly stuck in Norway after a snowstorm froze the airport runway and delayed their return flight.
The match itself had already been played in harsh conditions, with temperatures close to zero and increasing snowfall as the night went on.
But the real complications came afterwards: according to Sky Sports and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the runway at Bodo Airport became almost entirely iced over, preventing Juventus from taking off as scheduled.
The squad, who had planned to spend the night in Norway, were forced to wait until the situation improved. Clearance for departure finally arrived, and the plane left for Turin at around 13.30 CET, more than an hour later than expected.
The journey back to Italy spans roughly 2,500 kilometres, meaning the team were only due to land late in the afternoon—far from ideal preparation ahead of Saturday’s Serie A clash with Cagliari.
Fortunately for Juventus, the disruption remained an inconvenience rather than a serious problem, and the team is now focused on their next league fixture.
