Real Madrid announced on Wednesday 19th November that Eder Militao has suffered a muscle injury to his right adductor. The club has not given an estimated recovery time, but reports suggest he will be out for two weeks.
The ‘FIFA virus’ has struck Real Madrid during the final stretch of the international break in November. The club will be without Eder Militao, a key figure in their defence, for their upcoming matches.
The defender, called up by Carlo Ancelotti for the international friendlies, suffered an injury in the match between Brazil and Tunisia. On Wednesday, medical staff at Real Madrid conducted tests, which revealed a muscle problem.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Eder Militao by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to the adductor muscle in his right leg,” the club said in a brief statement.
As is customary, the Santiago Bernabeu side did not give an estimated return date, stating that his availability will depend on his recovery. However, various media outlets report that the Brazilian will be out for approximately two weeks.
As a result, the centre-back is certain to miss the games against Elche and Olympiacos, and is a serious doubt for the matches against Girona, Athletic Club and Celta de Vigo, although he should be ready for the clash against Manchester City on 10 December.
