Isabel Diaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, has confirmed a significant financial contribution from Leo Messi to help rebuild the mountain range west of the capital.
Taking to her official ‘X’ account, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, voiced her appreciation for the philanthropy of Lionel Messi. The Argentine icon has pledged 80,000 euros to the regional government to assist in the restoration of areas devastated by recent wildfires.
“Leo Messi has donated 80,000 euros towards the reconstruction of the mountain range west of Madrid. I want to thank him and convey that the people of Madrid are eager to welcome him back soon to give him the ovation he so richly deserves,” Ayuso posted.
There have been no further outbreaks in the region since Monday evening, though the INFOMA Plan level 2 alert remains active. Following a fortnight of intense firefighting, the blaze has finally been stabilised and brought under control. Emergency services continue to monitor the perimeter, maintaining a high state of vigilance across the most vulnerable areas.
