Former Barcelona and Porto player Cristian Tello has joined UAE third division side FC Palm City on a free transfer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Orobah at the age of 34.
Cristian Tello will try his luck in the third division of the United Arab Emirates. The 34-year-old winger’s contract with Saudi club Al-Orobah has expired, and the Spaniard will therefore join FC Palm City as a free agent.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Tello passed his medical tests with the UAE team a few days ago and has finally signed his contract with his new club, where he will begin what could be the last stage of his career.
Interestingly, despite belonging to the UAE’s third tier, Palm City have four other Spaniards on their roster, to whom the 34-year-old winger will be added: Alvaro Bravo, Alejandro Pozuelo, Luis Romero and Jesus Cedenilla.
Tello began his career in Barcelona’s youth ranks and made his debut for the Catalan side on 8th November 2011, when the ‘Cules’ faced L’Hospitalet in Copa del Rey. The Spanish winger has played for Porto, Fiorentina, Real Betis, LAFC, Al-Fateh and Saudi Pro League side Al-Orobah, with whom he scored five goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances during his one-year spell.
