Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a formal £85 million offer to Manchester City for Savinho, according to reports from ‘GE’. The substantial fee meets the valuation set by the Premier League champions at the outset of negotiations.
The 22-year-old Brazilian forward is reportedly intent on forcing an exit and was a notable absentee from training on Thursday. Savinho is understood to believe that he will secure more playing time and a leading role at Tottenham Hotspur, despite the praise received from Enzo Maresca, City’s new manager, during pre-season.
Spurs’ interest in the player is long-standing. Twelve months ago, City rebuffed a £60 million approach and extended the Brazilian’s contract until 2031. However, this significantly improved bid has now cast fresh doubt over the attacker’s future at the Etihad.
During his two seasons with Manchester City, Savinho has made 84 appearances, scoring seven goals, providing 13 assists, and winning three trophies. A lack of regular starts has weighed heavily on his decision to seek a move, with Tottenham Hotspur emerging as the preferred destination to rediscover his momentum and bolster his standing within the Brazil national team.
