The Blues’ striker Estevao made history at Chelsea by becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League. The Brazilian snatched the honour from his teammate Marc Guiu, who had achieved the feat just minutes earlier.
Brazilian Estevao, one of Chelsea’s most promising players, became the youngest footballer to score for the club in the Champions League on Wednesday, surpassing Marc Guiu, who had set the record minutes earlier.
The Spanish striker made it 1-0 against Ajax and set the record at 19 years and 291 days. This record surpassed that of Reece James, who also scored against the Dutch side in November 2019, when he was 19 years and 332 days old.
However, Marc Guiu’s record lasted just 28 minutes, until Estevao, from the penalty spot and after Enzo Fernandez gave him the kick, smashed it.
The Brazilian, who arrived this summer from Palmeiras for £34 million, scored at the age of 18 years and 181 days. The striker had already scored in the Premier League, netting the winner two weeks ago against Liverpool.
