Manchester United have put pieces of the Old Trafford pitch up for sale to members in an effort to boost revenues.
Manchester United replaced their stadium pitch over the summer and are offering members the chance to purchase a memento of the turf for a price of £125 (145 euros).
This collector’s item comes preserved in clear glass and housed in a presentation box, accompanied by a photograph of the stadium.
“It is the perfect gift for United fans and can be displayed in a cabinet alongside other Manchester United collectibles,” the club stated on their official website.
The last time United made pitch turf available for purchase to members was during the 2012-13 season.
The sale of these collector’s pieces coincides with the club’s announcement of record revenues, reaching £677 million (787 million euros), despite still carrying an accumulated debt in excess of £1 billion (1.16 billion euros).
