Football Association chair Debbie Hewitt has urged Gianni Infantino to publish documentation regarding the aborted attempt to privatise the World Cup.
In a formal letter addressed to FIFA, Hewitt demanded that the governing body make the documents public before their next meeting on 15 October. According to reports in the British press, the FA chief also accused Infantino of a neglect of duty and of driving a deterioration of internal culture at the summit of world football.
Infantino, who has already confirmed that he will stand for re-election in 2027, has faced intense scrutiny in recent weeks over the project to privatise the World Cup—a proposal met with widespread backlash across the global game.
In the same correspondence, Hewitt also sought explanations from FIFA over the red card that was rescinded for Folarin Balogun, an intervention that cleared the United States international striker to feature in their World Cup round of 16 clash against Belgium.
