The Londoners want to reinforce their midfield after their weaknesses were exposed against Arsenal.
Chelsea are set to search for a midfielder better suited to Xabi Alonso’s system in the January transfer window following their 2-1 defeat against Arsenal. According to Tribuna, the departure of Enzo Fernandez and the absence of Moises Caicedo left the department significantly weakened.
Reece James was deployed in midfield alongside Romeo Lavia, but the ‘Blues’ struggled particularly out of possession. The club previously monitored Alex Scott, Adam Wharton, Manu Kone, and Lamine Camara.
Chelsea have already conceded seven goals in three matches and will be unable to reinforce the squad until January. The priority is now to find a solution that brings greater balance to the midfield.
