The Reds hope the forward’s contract impasse at Paris Saint-Germain will pave the way for a summer move.
According to talkSPORT, preliminary discussions between the two clubs have already commenced, although suggestions that the forward has already finalised personal terms with the Reds are currently thought to be premature.
The Merseyside outfit previously registered an interest in Bradley Barcola back in 2025, at a time when PSG valued the youngster at roughly 85 million euros. Since then, however, the French champions have significantly hiked their asking price to approximately 170 million.
Despite that eye-watering valuation, Liverpool believe they hold a significant advantage at the negotiating table. Barcola’s current deal has just two years left to run, and the forward is yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension with PSG.
It is understood that the Reds intend to test the waters with an opening offer in the region of £80 million. The club appears determined to maintain their disciplined recruitment strategy, refusing to be drawn into paying what they perceive as an inflated fee, regardless of the current market climate.
