According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan have stepped up their interest in Curtis Jones by submitting an opening offer for the Liverpool midfielder, although the proposal is reportedly well below Liverpool’s valuation.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter view Jones as an ideal addition to their midfield and are exploring the possibility of bringing the England international to Serie A this summer.
However, significant work remains before a deal can be agreed, with Liverpool currently unwilling to lower their demands.
The Italian giants are said to be inspired by the success of Scott McTominay following his move from Manchester United to Napoli. McTominay quickly became a key figure in Naples and played an important role in the club’s great campaign, a transition Inter hope Jones could replicate at San Siro.
A product of Liverpool’s academy, Jones has made more than 200 appearances for the club but has seen his opportunities become more limited in recent times.
Reports suggest the 25-year-old would be open to the prospect of playing in Italy, setting the stage for further negotiations between the two clubs in the coming weeks.
