Manchester City confirmed via social media that Ederson is ending his eight-year spell with the Sky Blues to try his luck at Fenerbahçe.
What was an open secret was finally confirmed the day after the transfer window closed. Manchester City confirmed that Ederson is leaving the club to join Turkish side Fenerbahçe.
Ederson, who became one of the most decorated players in Cityzens history having won 18 major titles in eight seasons at the club, decided to try his luck in Turkey after being informed that he was not in Pep Guardiola’s plans.
The Brazilian goalkeeper’s departure was announced before the Sky Blues officially confirmed the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, as the Italian goalkeeper’s signing depended on the Brazilian’s move.
“Ederson has completed a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce, subject to international clearance. We wish you the very best, Eddie,” wrote the club on ‘X’.
