Leo Messi has struck an agreement in principle with Eldense’s current owners to become the club’s majority shareholder.
Should the takeover go through, it would mark the first time Lionel Messi has taken ownership of a professional club in Spain.
The deal with Eldense could be finalised in the coming days once the final legal and contractual details are signed off, following an exhaustive due diligence process.
Furthermore, the transaction remains subject to mandatory regulatory approval from Spain’s National Sports Council (CSD).
