Fabian Ruiz and Lamine Yamal ended the first match of the Spanish national team in the current international break with bruises. The Barcelona youth player, due to an overload, returned to Barcelona to rest, but his compatriot has recovered. He trained normally this Monday morning and, if Luis de la Fuente deems it appropriate, he could even start against Serbia in the fourth round of the Nations League.
Fabian Ruiz was one more in Luis de la Fuente’s group of internationals who closed the short preparation for the fourth matchday of the Nations League against Serbia in Cordoba on Tuesday, overcoming the muscular discomfort with which he finished Saturday’s match against Denmark and can return to the starting lineup.
Amid so much bad news accumulated for De la Fuente in terms of injuries, the last one being the muscular overload suffered by Lamine Yamal against Denmark that made him return home on Sunday, the coach received a good one on the eve of the match against Serbia. Fabian has overcome his discomfort and is available.
The midfielder from Los Palacios played the whole game against Denmark and ended up with muscular discomfort. The medical examination confirmed that there was no injury or overload and, after Sunday’s recovery, he was able to train on Monday morning at the same pace as the rest of the internationals.
It was the second session for Rodrigo Riquelme, urgently called up after Yamal’s injury, who will be a new member of the Spanish expedition that will fly from Madrid to Cordoba at 18:00. Beforehand, the internationals bid farewell to the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas with a final gentle training session.
