A person has been sentenced to one year in prison and a further three years without setting foot in a stadium following racist insults he first hurled at Vinicius and then Samu Chukwueze two weeks later at Son Moix.
Palma’s Court of Instruction number 3 has imposed a one-year prison sentence and a three-year ban on access to stadiums on the perpetrator of the racist episodes in Son Moix against Vinicius Junior and Samu Chukwueze.
The events occurred on 5 February 2023 in a LaLiga EA Sports match between RCD Mallorca and Real Madrid and on 18 February of the same year, in another match played at the Estadio Mallorca Son Moix between RCD Mallorca and Villarreal.
Both complaints, initiated and promoted by LA LIGA, have been resolved with convictions for Crimes of Moral Integrity with the aggravating circumstance of discrimination on racist grounds and also applying the mitigating circumstance of repentance.
Each of the incidents that occurred have resulted in a six-month prison sentence and an 18-month ban on entering football stadiums where LaLiga and/or the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) matches are held, and both sentences are added together.
Another case of racist episodes, in this case towards Aurelien Tchouameni, has been resolved with an out-of-court agreement on compensation for the minor who insulted and threw water bottles at the Real Madrid footballer on 13 April.
The minor has undertaken to apologise to the player, Real Madrid and La Liga and to carry out specific socio-educational activities proposed by the Minors’ Section of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Palma de Mallorca.
He will also have to pay 4,000 euros for racist insults, 3,001 euros for throwing objects onto the pitch and will not be allowed access to La Liga and RFEF stadiums for one calendar year.
