Neymar reportedly offered himself to former club Barcelona but manager Hansi Flick turned down the chance to recruit the Al-Hilal star.

Barca are on the lookout for a new left winger after missing out on Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. This reportedly led the 32-year-old to offer his services to the La Liga team, but Flick’s team are not considering the Brazil international.

Neymar has been out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury since last October – a few months after he left Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal. While he is inching closer to getting back on the field, the report adds there is no return date for the ex-Barca star, who is in the last year of his contract at the Saudi Pro League team.

With Williams seemingly staying put at Athletic Club, Barcelona considered a move for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao but now they have set their sights on Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. Meanwhile, they have had difficulty registering summer signing Dani Olmo, who is waiting to make his debut.

While Neymar continues his rehab, his Al-Hilal team – who romped to the Saudi Pro League title last season – take on Damac on Wednesday night; whereas his old side Barcelona face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Tuesday.
