Juventus made a change on the bench: Thiago Motta for Massimiliano Allegri. The arrival of the Italian-Brazilian in Turin has brought with it a big change in the squad, as he has not hesitated to show the exit door to several players. Some of them very important during these seasons in the ‘Vecchia Signora’.
Juventus are facing a new season with a change of coach in the dugout. Thiago Motta has taken over from Massimiliano Allegri and is already in charge of the Italian side this pre-season.
Motta’s arrival in Turin has brought and will bring several changes to the squad. Some of Allegri’s key players will be forced to leave, as they are no longer part of the project.
There have already been some big name departures such as that of Adrien Rabiot or the departure of a young talent such as Dean Huijsen. But this is only the beginning, the door is still open for more players.
The former Bologna coach has not minced his words about the departure of certain top players. After the friendly against Brest, he said: “Chiesa and the other players who were not called up for the game are not part of the project. We have been clear with them. You have to find a solution and a team as soon as possible”.
The list of players the coach is not counting on is made up of: Chiesa, Szczesny, Weston McKennie, De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, Kostic, Nicolussi-Caviglia and Rugani, Fabrizio Romano said. Juventus have already worked on replacing some of them. For example, the goalkeeper, who will no longer be the property of the Polish goalkeeper, will now be defended by Di Gregorio, who has arrived from Monza.
Alongside the Brazilian-born coach, new signings have arrived. The Turin club has already confirmed the signings of Juan Cabal, Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz, in addition to the Milan goalkeeper.
But it doesn’t stop there. On the ‘Vecchia Signora’ radar, there are still more names on the books, such as Karim Adeyemi, from Borussia Dortmund, or Jean-Clair Todibo, from Nice. The German would be Chiesa’s replacement, while the Frenchman would fill Rugani’s place.
