Madrid to face Albacete in behind-closed-doors friendly before USA tour

Real Madrid, who are still working on their pre-season, are planning to play a friendly training match against Albacete. The match will be played behind closed doors at Valdebebas on Wednesday 24th July.

Madrid have just finished their first week of pre-season work and the tour of the United States is already on the horizon. The squad will pack their bags on 28th July to embark on a trip to the other side of the Pond, where they will play three friendlies (Milan, Barca and Chelsea).

However, ‘Los Blancos’ will play one match before leaving. As reported by the newspaper ‘Marca’, the ‘Merengue’ team has scheduled a behind-closed-doors match against Albacete on Wednesday 24th July, a training match -time unknown- that will take place at the Valdebebas facilities.

Carlo Ancelotti will use the available players from the first team squad and others from the reserve team. The Italian coach will test the level of his players, who have been working since Monday 15th to get in the best possible physical shape after the return from holidays.

It should not be forgotten that Madrid’s schedule is tightening up. We have already mentioned that they will play three friendlies in the United States, followed by the European Super Cup final against Atalanta. After that, the Spanish side will kick off La Liga in Mallorca.
