Joao Felix will not stay at Atletico Madrid, nor will Diego Pablo Simeone not count on him for the 2024/25 season. Both parties are in agreement, but it remains for the Portuguese to find a new destination, something that has not yet happened.

The holidays are coming to an end and Joao Felix still does not know what his future will be next season. The Portuguese wants to leave Atletico and the club are willing to let him leave as Simeone does not have him in mind for the 2024/25 campaign.

However, the Atletico board has not received an offer for the striker. As an international, Joao Felix is allowed to rest until 26 July, according to ‘Marca’. After that, he would have to rejoin the Spanish side.

Ideally, as a result, the 24-year-old should find a new destination before next Friday. Otherwise, he will have no choice but to reunite with his current coach, with whom he did not end well.

Atletico Madrid are looking to make at least 60 million euros from his transfer, as the La Liga club are not even considering loaning him out again, i.e. they want a permanent transfer.

Those interested in Felix, at least so far, are Benfica, who cannot afford to pay the fee the Spanish side are looking for, and Barcelona, although they are only considering keeping him on loan.

If he has not found a team by Friday 26 July, he will have to return to training with Atletico, with whom he made gestures of contempt during last season’s matches that did not go down well with the fans.
