“I came to Germany for Euro 2024 and I’ll stay here”

Pedri Gonzalez confirmed that he will stay with Spain “until the end” because “the dream” of the national team “continues” a day after it was confirmed that he will be out for the rest of the European Championship.

Pedri thanked Toni Kroos for his apology for the hard tackle that caused him to sprain his knee and cause him to miss the remainder of Euro 2024 and said that “the dream continues” despite not being able to play for Spain.

“I came to Germany for Euro 2024 and I’m going to stay here, until the end. Because the dream, don’t doubt it, continues,” Pedri posted on his social networks a day after medical tests confirmed he would not be able to play in the semi-final against France and a possible final.

“This week it’s time to encourage and contribute in another way to this great family that is the national team. Your support and that of all of you has been incredible. The hardest moment has passed and the road back to Barcelona is now beginning,” he added.

In his message, Pedri thanked Toni Kroos, who in a farewell letter after leaving football after losing to Spain in the quarter-finals, dedicated a message to the Spanish player apologising for the tackle and praising him for his level of football.
