UEFA presented an award to Luis de la Fuente at its Coaches Congress. The 63-year-old was recognised by UEFA for his success with the Spanish national team at UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente was honoured at the UEFA Coaches Congress in Berlin for his role with the Spanish national team in its brilliant triumph at UEFA EURO 2024, winning the tournament for the first time in history.
The Spanish coach received the recognition and affection of the coaches at the congress of coaches and sports directors of national teams held in Berlin, where Spain were proclaimed European champions on 14 July after beating England in the final.
It was the fourteenth edition of the congress, which featured the stellar intervention of Luis de la Fuente. For 45 minutes, he answered questions from UEFA, coaches such as Spain’s Roberto Martinez, who is in charge of Portugal, and historic coaches such as Fabio Capello.
The methods of the coaching staff led by De la Fuente in the Spanish national team, living together for a month and a half during the European Championship and his way of managing the dressing room were topics that were addressed, according to the RFEF.
