Jadon Sancho wants PSG transfer as Ligue 1 side learn asking price for Man Utd forward amid Manuel Ugarte negotiations
Jadon Sancho reportedly wants to join Paris Saint-Germain as Manchester United inform the Ligue 1 side about the forward’s hefty price tag.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions have initiated negotiations over a potential transfer, with Sancho seemingly eager to make the switch to Paris. However, any potential deal is unlikely to be straightforward as United have set a significant price tag for Sancho, demanding more than €60 million (£51m/$66m) for the talented winger.
It is believed that the discussions between the two clubs have also touched on the structure of the deal, although no agreement is expected to be reached this week as the negotiations are complex. The ongoing talks with PSG also include discussions about midfielder Manuel Ugarte. United are keen on the midfielder as they strive to revamp their squad ahead of the new campaign.
The Red Devils have splashed the cash on Lenny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, and Noussair Mazraoui this summer and must offload players for further squad reinforcements. Ugarte remains a priority for Erik ten Hag and selling Sancho could provide the financial flexibility needed to pursue the target. The Uruguayan, who has agreed to personal terms with United, was notably absent from PSG’s training session on Tuesday, which has fueled speculation about his impending transfer.
The potential move for Sancho comes in the wake of Kylian Mbappe’s departure from PSG to Real Madrid on a free transfer. With Mbappe gone, Luis Enrique is in urgent need of a high-quality winger to fill the void left by the former captain.
