Former Man Utd star Nani returns to his roots after signing for Estrela da Amadora

Former Sporting CP and Manchester United star Nani has joined his local club Estrela da Amadora as a free agent this season. The Portuguese has most recently played for Orlando City, Venezia, Melbourne Victory and Adana Demirspor, where he made 34 appearances last season, so he returns to his homeland with plenty of competitive experience.
Portuguese winger Nani, Cristiano Ronaldo’s friend and teammate at Sporting, Manchester United and the Portuguese national team, will play this season for Estrela Amadora in the Portuguese First Division, the team from the neighbourhood where the 37-year-old was born.

The signing, which has been speculated in recent days, has been announced in the last few hours by the Portuguese team on their social networks, where they have published a video interviewing the player himself.

The winger has signed a contract valid for one year and arrives with a record of one Champions League and four league titles with Manchester United, in addition to the Euro 2016 that he won with Portugal.

Nani was formed in the youth academy of Sporting Portugal alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, played for Manchester United between 2007 and 2014, where he also shared dressing room with the Madeira striker, and played for other clubs such as Valencia CF and Orlando in the MLS.
